Clarence House: A bust of Major John Howard, who on the night of 5th June 1944 led his men to victory when they captured Pegasus and Horsa bridges within ten minutes. Operation Deadstick as it is known, prevented the German army from crossing the bridges and attacking the eastern flank of D-Day landings at Sword Beach. #DDay70
